DIY Personalized Cell Phone Cover
I make this one for my friend Maggie for Christmas, she has an iPhone 5 but you can easily make one of these for any phone.
Maggie had been dreaming of the covers with bows on them for quite some time so that is what I decided to make her for Christmas. You could make one any way you like, without bows and with different colours, or an entirely different design. Below is how to make this one so just change what you like to get your own personalized phone cover.
Supplies:
- Blank cell phone cover for your descired type of phone. I used a clear one that looked like this
- Pouncer
- Paint – I used Martha Stewart’s all-purpose paint in black, gold and gold glitter
- Glue and a plastic bow (or any other embellishments you might want)
First I covered the clear case in two coats of black paint using my pouncer and let that dry. Once the black was dry I did VERY light coats of gold and didn’t go as far down with each coat. In the end I did 3 VERY light coats with the gold so that it would have a faded effect.
This is what it looked like at that point:
After the gold was dry I added another 2 VERY light coats of the gold glitter just to give it a little sparkle and then let that dry. Then I glued on the bow and it was ready to go!
I hope you like it! I have a couple more blank phone covers so there will probably be more to come!

This is so pretty, I might try this, I have a old case that’s starting to lose its vibrancy
You should! It was really easy and it’s so nice to be able to have exactly what you want since you can design it yourself!

gold glitter + bow = perfection!
Thank you!! I’m really glad you like it
OK, this is going to sound like a stupid question… what’s a pouncer? Is it like a spray painting gun/mister of some kind?
It’s not a stupid question at all!
Melissa asked me that a few months ago actually. It is like a little sponge. Here is the set I have
Martha Stewart 32243 Foam Pouncers, Set of 6
They are really handy!

Aha! Cool, thanks. Looks much easier to use than a sponge!
Looks actually really nice!

Thank you!!!
