This Friday I am all about how to freshen up your home for the new year!

Here are some great ideas on things you could DIY to add some new to the new year!

Oversized Art from Beautiful Hello Blog

Oversized Art – I have always loved oversized art and I have been planning on making something for our house for a while, I’m just not sure on what yet. Here are some great tips from a great artist on how to create your own! Oh and by the way, I love this blog! If you don’t follow her you should start!!

Custom Rug from Mrs. And The Misc.

How about a custom rug? This one is great, I really like the spin on the chevron pattern, a bit different which makes it even better! This is from another fantastic blog that I follow!!

Melissa’s Favorites

My theme for this week is similar to Michelle’s, but more focused on the kitchen. :) Here are some ideas to get your kitchen organized for the new year.

DIY Etched Kitchen Canisters – From Martha Stewart

I so wish I had more counter space so I could take on this project. I have always wanted to have canisters like this!

DIY Magnetc Spice Storage from A Beautiful Mess

This is such a simple idea, but it would make a huge difference in the kitchen. I hate digging in the back of my cupboards to try to find the spices I am looking for!

Chalkboard Menu from Etsy Shop – Cate

I love the idea of being able to write down the meals for the week… this would also eliminate my husband asking me every night what we should make for dinner.

Decoupaged Owl Recipe Box from Etsy Shop – I Have Been Framed

This owl recipe box is a perfect way to keep your recipes organized. Also, it’s adorable.

We hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Love all of these muchly!! I’ve labeled all my ingredients at home, (except these pictures are much nicer), and have a few pieces of oversized art in my apartment. My favourite is in our TV room… or the “movie room”, where we have these big old rod iron movie reels hanging from the wall. Also, I particularly like the idea of a chalkboard to write out the menu for the week. Very, very cute!
